I'm John
Welcome to my photography site.
I got my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 104 when I was eight and I've been taking pictures ever since. Through books and experience, I'm mostly self-taught and of course I've made my fair share of mistakes but my photography has evolved along with my equipment as photography transitioned from film to digital.
As a former Air Force aviator and Boeing pilot instructor, I've had the opportunity to travel a bit, see the world and, as a photographer, capture many special moments and scenes along the way. I don't limit my photography to just nature but I very much enjoy the natural environment and the great diversity of life all around us. Through my photography, I hope I can help bring an awareness of just how incredible and precious the natural world is. We live on a truly amazing planet and I want my photography to reflect that. I'm a natural born instructor and story teller and photography has been a wonderful outlet for these passions. I've found the more time I spend behind the lens, the more I see the world in compelling images I want to share with people.
